Team Effectiveness Coaching

Picture
One of the most important leadership practices I have found is having regular "balcony time." Balcony time is the practice of stepping far enough away from the every day activity of your organization, teams and employees so that you can see the whole picture.

Individual coaching provides regular balcony time. But when leaders take regular balcony time, they begin to see where there teams and employees need stretch and support.

That's where we come in! I partner with your organization to design unique engagements with your teams to stretch and support them for optimal organizational performance.

Some current areas of support and stretch for teams today:

Leadership Transitions
When an organization has a change in leadership, there is a unique opportunity to reflect on who it has become and who it wants to be moving forward.

Often there are five key areas upon which to reflect:
  1. What has our past taught us or how has it changed us?
  2. How is our current organizational configuration serving or not serving us?
  3. Is there anything we need to let go of in order for us to move forward?
  4. What do we need and value the most as we move forward?
  5. How do we invest in our future together?

Through individual coaching with leaders, surveys of employees and key stakeholders and interviews with teams, we discern together what is needed for you to make a successful move from past to future.

Why Church? Workshop

We’re all asking the same questions…
  • Why are our numbers declining?
  • How will our church continue given our aging population?
  • How do we get young families back to church?
  • Is church just not a value in our culture anymore?
  • What can we do?

When we talk about church change, the conversation often centers around:
  • What are we doing that can be tweaked?
  • Who/ What got us here?
  • How do we get back to what used to be?

Instead of what, who or how, let’s Start with “Why?”
  • Why are we church people?
  • Why does the world need churches?
  • Why did Jesus want us to gather together as believers?
  • Why do our communities need the church?

Using scripture (2 Corinthians 4-5 along with John 2-4), we will spend some time naming our current situation. Sharing our thoughts, concerns and ideas. The workshop will include discussion, silence and prayer.

 Discerning Change with Theory-U

Sometimes the way forward isn't particularly clear. Theory U by Otto Scharmer can be a useful tool  to discern the way forward together.

First, we listen to one another. Put it all on the table.

Second, we find stillness. Organizations, boards and teams are finding that intentional silence enables the flurry of thoughts and feelings to settle,

And in the stillness, a way forward becomes clear.

Lost and Found - reflection on the global pandemic.

This retreat explores three important questions:
  1. What did we lose that we we can't afford to lose?
  2. What did we lose that if we are honest, we would prefer to leave it go, but probably should go get it?
  3. What did we lose that isn't ours to go get - but instead, we need to wait for it to come back (most likely not like it left.)?
